Yes. Every core feature — adding farms, drawing a radius, taking notes, importing and exporting Excel, viewing the audit trail — works without an internet connection. Map tiles are cached as you browse so previously-viewed areas keep working in the field.

All farms, notes, photos and settings live on your device. VetMapping does not upload your data to any server. You can back up or move your data using Settings → Export data (JSON) and restore it on another device with Import data (JSON).

• On the home screen, tap Import Excel.
• Choose the farm type (Animal, Dairy, Poultry or Fish).
• Select your .xlsx file. VetMapping previews the first rows.
• Map your columns to the matching farm fields — Owner Name, Serial, Latitude, Longitude, livestock counts, etc.
• Add any extra columns as custom labels, then tap Import.

Open any farm-type list (e.g. Animal Farm), tap the three-dot menu, and choose Export Excel. You can reorder columns and remove the ones you don't need before exporting. The same export option appears on the Affected-farms sheet after drawing a radius.

Open a farm and tap Radius, or long-press the map to drop a temporary pin and tap Radius from there. Drag the slider or type a distance in km or miles. The Affected-farms sheet lists every farm inside the circle, sorted by distance, ready to share or export.

Long-press the correct location on the map. From the temporary pinpoint sheet, tap Move farm here and search for the farm to move. The previous and new coordinates are recorded in the GPS changes log so you have a full audit trail.

Yes. Open a farm, tap Add note, then either Take photo or Choose from gallery. Toggle Mark as critical to highlight the farm on the map with the critical-notes color.

Satellite tiles need an internet connection the first time you load an area. Once tiles are cached they remain available offline. Switch basemaps from the map style sheet (the layers button on the map) or in Settings → Map style.

Uninstalling the app removes its on-device storage. Always export a JSON backup from Settings → Export data (JSON) before reinstalling. If you have a backup file, use Import data (JSON) on the fresh install to restore everything.

iPhone running iOS 14 or later, and Android phones running Android 8 (Oreo) or later. The app is optimised for portrait phone use; tablets work but are not the primary target.
